Hi! My name is Andi Spears. I am so grateful to be at LLCA! I consider it a great blessing to be given the opportunity to teach God's little lambs. I received my BA in History from the College of Charleston in Charleston, SC in 1995. I had always wanted to teach but did not listen to God's calling and thought about pursuing law. The year I received my BA in History is also the year I discovered I was pregnant with my second daughter, Emily, so I decided law school was OUT. My oldest daughter is a senior at Auburn University (WAR EAGLE!!!), and my youngest is a sophomore in high school at Madison Academy. My husband is retired from the U.S. Navy, and we spent several years in Norfolk, VA. I earned my MS in Secondary Education from Old Dominion University and also received my Elementary Endorsement from ODU. I taught high school history for one and a half years and was miserable. I am one of God's stubborn children. After five years of substituting, homeschooling, and being a teacher aide in a special needs class, I realized I LOVED elementary age children and teaching that age. I taught in Portsmouth, VA for one year, and we moved back home in 2008. My husband, Stephen, and I have been married for 23 years and were high school sweethearts in Hanceville, AL. He works at Brownsferry Nuclear Plant in Athens. We attend Crosspointe Church in Madison and serve in the children's ministry as substitutes. We are THRILLED to be back home with friends and family, and I am so excited to be a part of the LLCA family.

Hello!! My name is Amy Blaylock, and I would like to introduce myself to you and share with you a little about myself. In addition to being a teacher, I am a follower of Jesus Christ, a wife, a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, and a Sunday school teacher. Also, I like candy, dogs, books, shopping, the mountains, college football (Roll Tide!!), all things Disney, and good food! :)
I have been married to my husband MIchael for six years and the Lord has blessed us in so many ways. We have built a wonderful life together. The greatest blessings in our lives are our sweet girls, Claire (4 years), and Emma (18 months)! I am amazed every day that the Lord has such confidence in me, that He gave me these little people to care for all their lives, and trusts me to raise them to know Him! What an awesome responsibility! Together, our family attends Central Baptist Church in Decatur. My family started attending Central in my senior year of high school, and it has been "home" to me ever since! When Michael and I began dating, he started attending Central as well. We were counseled and married by our Pastor, Rob Jackson, in 2004, and both our girls were dedicated to the Lord at Central!
I am a 2008 graduate of Athens State University with a B.S. in Elementary Education. I have had experience teaching in both public and private school settings, but my heart lies in Christian education. At one time, it was my dream to obtain a tenured position in an area public school. However, God blessed me with the opportunity to teach at FCA during my first full year of teaching, and He has forever changed the way I view myself as an educator. Isaiah 43:10 says, "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord "and my servant whom I have chosen, so that you may know and believe me and understand that I am He." This verse is so amazing to me!! God tells us right here that we may KNOW and BELIEVE Him!!! As I teach, is is my prayer that my students will understand that God wants us to know and believe Him. My passion for teaching has remained, but He has enhanced that passion by adding the desire to instill a love for Him in the hearts and minds of the children I teach. He continues to teach me new things through a daily walk with Him.
During the time I taught at FCA, I was privileged to meet and teach with many of the teachers that are now on staff here at LLCA. God created so many beautiful friendships during that year, and I am thrilled that the Lord is allowing us to serve together again here at LLCA! I look forward to getting to know each child and your families as we embark on this journey together!
