Mr. McCombs holds a Master’s Certification in Instructional Leadership (2024) and a Master of Education in History (2017), both from the University of West Alabama. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Alabama in 2013 and began his academic journey at Snead State Community College, where he received an Associate of Science in General Education in 2011.

In June 2025, Mr. McCombs was named LLCA’s Middle School/High School Principal, where he serves as the chief instructional and spiritual leader for grades 7-12. In this role, he is responsible for the overall vision, direction, and daily operations of the upper school. He works to foster a Christ-centered school culture that supports student growth, discipline, and development. He oversees student conduct, promotes a positive learning environment, and partners with faculty, staff, students, and parents to uphold the school’s mission and values.

As principal, he actively supports students’ spiritual growth and academic and personal success, while assisting with challenges, and managing student behavior in a manner rooted in grace and accountability. He models the highest standards of professional and spiritual leadership and collaborates closely with staff to shape the character formation and development of every student.

Prior to joining LLCA, he served at Whitesburg Christian Academy (2023–2025) as Middle School Athletic Director and teacher of 9th and 10th Grade Bible and Christian Leadership. He also led the Academy Chapel Praise Band as its sponsor and devotional pastor, investing deeply in student worship and spiritual growth.

From 2014 to 2023, he taught at Arab High School, instructing various Social Studies courses in 9th and 11th Grade World History, Psychology, and Sociology. He also served as Assessment Coordinator for the school’s Summer Reading Program.

His ministry experience includes years of leadership in worship and discipleship. He currently attends Whitesburg Baptist Church (Huntsville, AL), where he was selected as a Spiritual Leadership Pipeline invitee (2024). He previously served as Interim Music Minister and College & Career Sunday School teacher at Arab First Baptist Church (2022–2023), and as Minister of Music and Discipleship at Sweet Home Baptist Church in Guntersville, AL (2019–2022). He has also participated in mission work, including trips to New Orleans in partnership with NOBTS and MissionLab.

He has partnered with Fellowship of Christian Athletes for over a decade and served on staff as an Ambassador, mentoring student-athletes in faith and leadership.

In athletics, he coached varsity baseball at Arab High School from 2015 to 2023, working as Assistant and Associate Head Coach under Coach Chad Hudson and serving as hitting coach and off-season coordinator.

Throughout his career, Mr. McCombs has remained committed to Christ-centered leadership—spiritually, academically, and athletically—believing that every aspect of school life is an opportunity for discipleship and transformation.

In his free time, he enjoys traveling and spending quality time with his wife, Mallory, their son, Tripp, and their extended family. He also enjoys reading, playing and watching sports, and making music.

His “life verse” is 1 Corinthians 10:31 that says So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.
