Mindy Gilbert
SECONDARY ASSISTANT PRINCIPAL
Mindy Gilbert is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, but she moved to the south in 2006 to attend Belmont University, where she graduated with honors. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in both English and Secondary Education.
After graduating, Mindy began her career teaching middle school English at Sunset Middle School in Nolensville, TN. She fell in love with this age group and continued serving middle school for the next ten years. Next, she taught in Memphis at a 5-8 charter school. While in Memphis, Mindy served as a middle school teacher and member of the Leadership Team, where she focused on coaching first-year teachers. Mindy then continued teaching middle school ELA in Tampa, Florida, at Lutz Prep and Carrollwood Day School. During this time, she served as a teacher coach, grade-level lead, and department chair while she earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership from Saint Leo University.
Upon earning her degree, Mindy served as the Assistant Head of Middle School at Carrollwood Day School until her family relocated to Huntsville in 2023. After teaching Spanish at the LLCA Cub Campus, Mindy is honored to take on the role of Assistant Principal in charge of instruction and professional development. Mindy is so excited to share her love for the Lord and excellent instruction with the students and staff at Lindsay Lane.
Mindy and her husband, Parker, have three children, Elliott, Vance, and Bobby, who all attend or will attend the Academy. In her spare time, Mindy can be found hanging with her family and friends, running, teaching Sunday school, tending to her garden, and cheering on LLCA youth sports! Mindy believes that she has the best job in the world because she sees teachers and students do inspiring, innovative things every single day.
