Community

Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is located in north Alabama in the county seat of Limestone County, the city of Athens. Located roughly 25 minutes Northwest of Huntsville, Athens has a population of approximately 25,616.  LLCA serves families from Limestone, Lauderdale, Madison and Morgan counties.

 

School Demographics
Lindsay Lane Christian Academy is a pre-K - 12th grade private Christian school, divided between three campuses (Main, East and West).  LLCA is accredited through both the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and the American Christian Schools International and holds membership in the College Board.  The total student body currently is at 451 students, with the following breakdown:

Curriculum

The academic program is organized on a modified block schedule.  Twenty-six credits are required for graduation, as well as 10 community service hours per academic year and the ACT.  The community service requirement began in the 2013-2014 academic year.  The curriculum of the school includes all courses required by the state for graduation as well as advanced science and math courses, Bible courses and a variety of other electives.  LLCA offers AP courses in World History, US History, and Computer Science 1 & 2.  The school partners with Colorado Christian University to offer dual credit options in Theology, Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, Physics, Calculus, English Composition 1 & 2, and American Literature 1 & 2. LLCA also has dual credit agreements in place Calhoun Community College, The University of North Alabama, The University of Alabama-Huntsville, and other universities throughout the state. Honors courses are offered in all core subjects beginning in 9th grade.

GPA Calculation

GPA is computed using the above quality points. Honors courses are weighted by one-half point, and AP/Dual Credit courses are weighted by 1 point for grades of A or B.  Beginning with grade 9, all subjects are included in the computation of GPA. Grades are recorded on the transcript, and GPA is computed in January and May.

 

ACT Average Composite Score

Lindsay Lane's first graduation commencement was held in 2012.  All LLCA graduates are required to take a college admission examination, ACT or SAT. As of 2015's graduating class the average ACT composite score for LLCA is 22.03.  

 

Class of 2012

There were 12 graduates in the class of 2012.  Nine of them matriculated to either a 4-year or 2-year college/university while three went into the Marines. Of the nine that matriculated to higher education, there were two full scholarships to 4-year universities, one full scholarship to a junior college and one partial scholarship to a junior college.  The class of 2012 had one student who qualified as a National Merit Semi-finalist.

 

Class of 2013

There were 11 graduates in the class of 2013.  Nine of them matriculated to either a 4-year or 2-year college/university, one went into the workforce and one went to a technical school.  Of the nine that matriculated to higher education, there were two partial scholarships to 4-year colleges/universities, one full scholarship to a junior college, and a partial scholarship to a junior college.

 

Class of 2014

There were 11 graduates in the class of 2014.  Nine of them matriculated to either a 4-year or 2-year college/university, one went into the armed forces (Marines) and one began a plumber apprenticeship.  Of the nine that matriculated to higher education, there were two full scholarships to 4-year universities and five who received partial scholarships to either 4-year or 2-year colleges/universities.

There were 13 graduates in the class of 2015.  Eleven of the graduates matriculated to either a 4-year or 2-year college/university, one went into the armed forces and two went into the workforce.  Of the eleven that matriculated to higher education, there was one full scholarship to a 4-year university and four who received partial scholarships to either 4-year or 2-year colleges/universities.

There were 15 graduates in the class of 2016.  100% of the graduates matriculated to either a 4-year or 2-year college/university.  Of the fifteen graduates, there were 5 full scholarships and 6 partial scholarships accepted with numerous other scholarships offered.

There were 12 graduates in the class of 2017.  100% of the graduates matriculated to either a college/university or to technical training.  Of the 12 graduates, there were 5 full scholarship offers and 10 partial scholarship offers.

There were 14 graduates in the class of 2018.  93% of the graduates matriculated to either a college/university or to technical training.  Of the 14 graduates, there were 5 full scholarship offers and 11 partial scholarship offers.
