Robotics Club

The Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Robotics Team's mission statement is to expose students to the challenge and excitement of learning to work together to accomplish a significant task in a real-life environment.
LLCA Robotics is led by Mrs. Kathryn Dewitt, M.S. in Engineering. Students engineer and manage a project which is taken to the regional robotics competition at Calhoun Community College. In addition to the engineering education involved, students get a chance to manage a "company." They gain experience in marketing, development, public presentations, design, finance, and many other practical phases of what is required to make a business work.
Lindsay Lane Christian Academy Robotics team competes in the BEST Robotics Competition BEST stands for Boosting Engineering, Science and Technology.
Our local competition is in October at Calhoun Community College. On “kickoff” in September, we receive our robot’s task and 2 boxes of required construction materials. Next, LLCA Robotics spends six weeks designing, testing, and redesigning our robot. The competition also entails an engineering notebook, a marketing presentation, a marketing booth and interview, and school spirit. Our LLCA Robotics team is organized like a company with a student CEO, Director of Marketing, Director of Engineering, and Director of Technology. These students are required to apply for the position and undergo an interview.
