Youth Basketball

We will have 6U( co-ed), 8U (possible co-ed/ based on numbers), 10U, and 12U boys and girls teams for 5-12 year olds. Teams will practice 1-2 times a week. Practice locations and times will be set after teams are formed. Games will be on Saturdays starting on November 12th. Each team will play approx. 10 games during the season, which will end on February 11th. The county tournament will then start Monday, February 13th.
Along with completing your child’s registration form, you will need to turn in a copy of their birth certificate. You or your child can turn this in at their respective campus office in an envelope labeled birth certificate and your child’s name. The birthday cut-off date for each age group is September 1st.
We are excited to be able to use the new jerseys from last year. As noted on the form, if you have a jersey from last season that fits and is in great condition you can wear it again. However, if you are a new player or just need a new jersey make sure to mark the respective questions on your registration form. You will let us know your player’s jersey top and shorts size, along with their preferred number when filling out the registration form as well. We will also have a jersey fitting on September 29th at the upstairs gathering space at the Main Campus to help ensure that you get the correct sizes for your player. The Youth basketball fee this year is $115 if ordering a New Jersey and $45 if you have a jersey from last season. Each player will receive customized sublimated shooting shirt with their last name on the back.
*Jersey Fitting will be Thursday 9/29
The fitting will take place at the Main campus. We will have all sizes available from youth to adult. We encourage you to swing by either day! This is your only opportunity to verify the jersey size you selected at registration or select the size if not noted. The order will go in Monday (Oct. 3rd) and we are unable to change the jersey size once the order is placed.
Johnson Elementary graciously pays the referees, allows us to practice, and play games at their gym free of charge. In return for this, we help work at the concession stand during the season. Parents can expect to work at least 2 concession stand shifts during the season, but not while your child plays. Your shift will either be during the game before or during the game after your child plays. If you are unable to work your shift you are responsible for finding a sub.
We are always looking for wonderful volunteers to help make this season successful. If you are willing to coach or assist, please indicate so on the registration form or email youthsports@llcalions.org. We will be having a coaches meeting on October 6th 6:00 at the Den campus gym.
We would love for you to be a part of this upcoming basketball season!
